An Organisation Administrator can configure notices to be displayed to the user when they login to SmarterWX. These can be used to provide information about refreshed data uploads, new organisations joining the SmarterWX community or links to helpful information.

User notices can be display as banners across the top of SmarterWX or as a popup box that the user must click on after logging on.

The field definitions are: –

  • Title – A short heading that is displayed at the top of the notice shown to the user.
  • Description – The main text shown with the notice. This field allows HTML codes to be entered allowing you to link to external documents, for example.
  • Notice Type – Determines how the notice is displayed – as a banner or a click-through popup box. For the banner you can choose Alert or Information which sets the colour of the banner’s background.
  • Target User Roles – Determines which users will see the notice. You can target a notice at all users or choose to only show the notice to your publishers or administrators.
  • Is User Able To Hide – If this is set to Yes the user can click on the “Hide” button so that they will not see this notice again. Setting it to no means this will be displayed every time a user logs in to SmarterWX.
  • Start Date/End Date (Optional) – These optional fields allow you to specify a date range for the notice. The notice will only be displayed on or after the start date and will stop being displayed after the end date.

Once you have configured your notice, click the “Add User Notice” button to finish.

From the User Notices list you can choose to edit or delete existing notices.
